Overview

DUSAW safes have a reputation for for quality, ease of use, and reliability, and can currently be found in many of the nation’s leading hospitality chains, hotel management companies and hotel ownership groups.

The DUSAW S20 hotel safe comes fully-loaded with security features designed to deter theft. From its seamless body design to its motorized locking mechanism to its two anti-drill rotating bolts, the DUSAW S20 hotel room safe is beneficial to everyone in your organization because it keeps valuables out of plain sight.

The room safe gives guests peace of mind and reliably protects what matters most to them. However, the safe was also designed to help hotel managers save valuable staff time and money in the instances when guests have forgotten their safe codes or when safe electronics malfunction.

Multiple Layers of Security Protection

The DUSAW S15 hotel room safe has a seamless body design that provides an extra layer of tamper-resistance as well as two built-in anti-drill rotating bolts to further deter theft. The room safe also features a motorized open and close locking device that is more difficult to pick than traditional manual locks.

(Accessory Tab) Know Who Has Been Accessing the Hotel Safe and When

The DUSAW S15 room safe comes equipped with a built-in chip that records when the safe has been opened and how it was opened (i.e. guest code, master code, key or with the CEU unit). The recordings can be downloaded from the chip using a USB cable and following the steps on the attached CEU unit. The CEU unit is an audit trail device that connects to a Windows computer, and allows a user to see the last 1000 times the safe was opened, making this a valuable feature for when something valuable goes missing.

*The CEU unit is not compatible with Mac OS X.
Hotel or Home Style Combination Code Systems

The hotel room safe comes with two optional functions for its combination code systems. The first, “Hotel Style” means that the safe’s combination gets changed every time the safe is opened and the second option, “Home Style,” means that the safe has the same code once it is set. However, the setting is interchangeable between hotel style and home style based on your evolving needs and preferences.

Easy-to-Read LCD Display to Help Avoid Eye Strain

The hotel safe features a large LCD display that makes it easy for authorized personnel and guests to read operational information such as battery high or low icons, error messaging and programming messages to facilitate troubleshooting.

An Extra Amenity for Peace of Mind

A hotel room safe is an extra amenity that shows guests you have considered their comfort and security. Also, offering a room safe can also give you an edge over your competitors in the highly saturated hotel market- it might be that little extra that makes guests book a room with you instead of the competition.

(For DUSAW S-17) The Room Safe Can Accommodate a Laptop up to 17 Inches
Worried that a guest’s laptop won’t fit? The DUSAW S15 Safe dimensions are (H x W x D): 7.8 x 16.5 x 14.5” (19.8 x 41.9 x 36.8 cm). However, because a laptop is measured diagonally from the top corner of the screen to the bottom corner, a 17-inch laptop is less than 16.5 inches wide. For example, the HP Pavilion DV7-1240US 17-inch laptop’s dimensions (L x W x H) are 15.6 x 11.2 x 1.3” (39.6 x 28.4 x 3.3 cm), which is why guests who own this 17-inch or other smaller laptops, tablets and other digital devices can store them in this hotel room safe.

(For DUSAW S-20) Is this safe big enough for my guests?
Customer Quote

“I was planning on buying 17-inch wide room safes for the two hotels I own in Juneau. Initially, I was leaning towards a larger model of safe because I was worried that my guests’ 17” laptops wouldn’t fit inside the standard 16.5” model. However, after I spoke to one of the product specialists at DUSAW, I learned how laptops are measured (diagonally), and realized that I didn’t need a wider safe for 17” laptops. Like many people today, I find that I’m leaving my laptop at home. Instead, I’m bringing along my iPad because it’s so much easier to carry.”

– Don Madson, Hotel Owner, Juneau, Alaska

How does the safe function?

When you receive the new safe it isn’t locked. Insert the 4 x AA batteries into the compartment located inside the safe.

Your hotel room guests will find the safe unlocked. After putting their valuables inside, they can choose a 3 to 6 digital code (similar to a pin code), and press the “lock” key to automatically lock the safe. To unlock the safe, they will have to enter the code they selected and first used to lock the safe.

Why doesn’t this room safe have a card swipe?

Card swipe safes are less common these days. In the past, they were popular option when guest used to receive room key with magnetic strips on the back of the cards. However, because many hotels around the world are moving away from that system to contactless cards for security reasons, hotels are now opting for safes without card swipes.

Is there a warranty?

The DUSAW S15 room safe carries a limited warranty on mechanical defects for a period of up to 5 years from the original date of purchase. The warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the safes that have failed under normal use (determined by Go Safes LLC), and excludes labor, removal, installation or transportation.

Are there maintenance costs involved?

No, because DUSAW safes remain stationary and therefore do not break or malfunction easily.

Are batteries included?

Yes, four AA batteries are included with the purchase of each safe. However, for optimal performance the batteries should be changed every year.

What happens if the guest forgets the code?

Each safe comes with a factory default master code (we highly suggest that you change the code at the point of installation). This code should be kept by the general manager and whomever else will have access to the physical key.

The master code should not be given to your cleaning crew or maintenance staff. While the master code will be able open the safe, but keep in mind that it will show up in the audit trail when it is used to open the safe. In addition to a master code, the room safe can also be opened with a physical key; any time the safe is opened with a physical key, it will be reflected in the audit trail.

What happens if the battery dies? How do we open the safe?

The safe has a physical key that can open the safe even if the battery inside the safe dies. The key can also be used if a hotel guest forgets his or her safe code. Opening the safe with a key will also show up in the audit trail, but only if the battery is working, if there is no power, then there is no way to record the safe’s opening or have it show up in the history.

While key entry doesn’t show up in the history when the power is off, keep in mind that only people who possess the physical key are the ones who can open the safe.
Where can the safe be installed?

Our safes can be anchored to a shelf (at bottom of the safe) or to the wall (from back of safe). The weight restriction is the same as the shelf’s original weight restrictions.

Keyed Alike:

You can choose to have one unique key that will work for every safe you purchase or, you can have a unique key to open each safe. In other words, you can have one key for 80 safes or 80 keys for 80 safes- it’s up to you.
How are the safes shipped to my location?

All of our safes are shipped by freight only. We do not ship with UPS to make sure that the safes don’t get damaged in transit.

What about the keys that come with the safe?

The keys that come can be keyed alike or keyed differently. The safe’s key slot is concealed as an added preventative measure to deter lock-picking. The non-keyed alike (a unique key per each safe) option comes with 2 emergency keys per safe, and the keyed alike (one master key for all the safes you purchase), comes with two master emergency keys.

Are there tamper-proof nuts or bolts available for the safe?

Yes, there both are available. The tamper-proof nuts help prevent the safe from being unscrewed from its pedestal; while the tamper-proof bolts help anchor the safe to the ground or a wall.

What pedestal options are available for the safe?

Pedestals are available in 12”, 18” and 24” heights. A pedestal stand is an ideal option for clients that do not want a shelf-mounted solution in their hotel rooms. A pedestal mount is a great option for clients who want to accommodate hotel guests with disabilities.
What’s Included:

  • 4 x AA batteries
  • 2 x emergency keys
  • 2 x anchors to mount the safe to the wall
  • Instruction manual
  • Audit trail device (needs 4 x AA batteries that are not included)

Where to Install the Room Safe

The room safe offers three installation options: wall, pedestal and shelf. The safe features two holes in the back-exterior that can be used to anchor the safe on a shelf that can then be affixed to a wall. The safe can also be mounted to a pedestal that is anchored to the ground. There are two holes inside of the safe, located under the carpet lining. These holes inside the safe accommodate tamper-proof nuts and bolts which are used to securely mount the safe to the pedestal. Lastly, the safe can be placed on a shelf and anchored to the shelf from the holes located at the interior-bottom of the room safe.

We offer professional installation services to our clients located in the United States.
